COOPERATION AND CONFLICT IN EU-EAST ASIA RELATIONS
This course will provide international graduate students with a broad and in-depth understanding of EU-East Asia relations. It focuses on aspects of conflict and cooperation in EU and East-Asia relations and will cover different topics including institutions, trade, politics, security, development cooperation and environment. The course also pays considerable attention to current issues in EU-East Asia issues. It benefits from the extensive expertise at the Centre for EU Studies and the Department of Languages and Cultures at Ghent University. In addition, the course will invite experts including international researchers as well as representatives of the work field. Through interaction with the lecturers, in group discussions and presentations, participants learn to participate in a debate on an academically high level in English.
The course values 5 ECTS credits. Participants need to actively take part in class room discussions, give a presentation and write a paper of 15 pages in order to successfully finish the course and receive the credits.
